Rooted in Faith

Anchor is a Christian homeschool co-op. This is not just a descriptor. It is the foundation that shapes everything we do, from how we select curriculum to how we handle conflict.

We believe that education is a spiritual endeavor. We teach children to wonder at creation, to pursue truth, and to grow in wisdom and virtue. Our faith informs our pedagogy and our relationships.

"We do not simply add Bible verses to secular education. We seek to integrate faith and learning in every subject, every conversation, and every interaction."

Families do not need to sign a statement of faith to join Anchor. We do ask that you understand and respect our Christian foundation. We welcome families from various backgrounds who want their children learning in a community that honors God.

What We Believe

  • God. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Scripture. We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice.
  • Jesus Christ. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death, resurrection, and future return.
  • Salvation. We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works.
  • Humanity. We believe all people are created in God's image and have inherent dignity and worth.
  • The Church. We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and service.

Leadership Commitment

Our leadership team and teachers affirm this statement of faith. We believe it is important for those leading and teaching at Anchor to be in agreement on these core doctrines.

Families joining Anchor are not required to affirm every point, but should be comfortable with their children learning in an environment where these beliefs are taught and practiced.

Core Values

These values shape how we operate and how we treat one another

01

Excellence

We do not confuse excellence with perfection. We mean doing what we do with care, preparation, and integrity. Teachers prepare. Students try. Parents support. We grow together.

02

Kindness

We prioritize relationships over being right. We speak gently, listen well, and assume the best about one another. Conflict happens, but we handle it with grace and direct communication.

03

Humility

We are all learning. Teachers, parents, and students alike. We admit mistakes, receive feedback, and remain open to growth. No one has arrived.

04

Responsibility

We show up prepared and on time. We clean up after ourselves. We follow through on commitments. Shared responsibility makes community possible.

05

Wonder

We cultivate curiosity and delight in learning. We point students to the beauty and order of creation. Education is not just about information, but about formation and awe.

06

Partnership

Parents are the primary educators. We come alongside to support, not replace. Communication flows both ways. We are in this together.

Culture in Action

How our values show up on Tuesdays

🙌

Morning Prayer

We begin each Tuesday with optional prayer time for parents and teachers. We bring requests, celebrate answers, and ask for wisdom together.

💬

Gracious Speech

We model and teach communication that builds up. No gossip. No harsh words. We address concerns directly and kindly, seeking reconciliation when needed.

🤝

Mentorship

Older students help younger ones. Experienced homeschoolers guide newcomers. We believe in the power of relationships across age and experience.

A Note on Belonging

You do not need to be Christian to find a place at Anchor. We have families from various faith backgrounds and church traditions. What we share is a commitment to kindness, excellence, and supporting one another in the homeschooling journey.

If you are curious about our faith but not sure where you stand, you are welcome here. We will not pressure you to believe, but we will not hide what we believe either. Our hope is that Anchor is a place where you can ask questions, build friendships, and find support.
